By Aleena, Community Officer at The Hive
No two days at The Hive look the same, and that is exactly why I love my job.
One morning, I’m welcoming a founder whose growing business has outgrown the home office. By afternoon I am walking a corporate team through a private office, then answering a booking query while a member waits for help. Every day asks something different of me. Every day I also learn something new about people, business and myself.
If you have ever wondered what a community officer at a coworking space actually does, this is my honest answer.
What a Community Officer Really Does:
The job title sounds simple. The role is not.
As a Community Officer at The Hive, I manage the facility and look after the people inside it. In practice, that means:
• Welcoming walk-in visitors and clients
• Conducting workspace tours for people exploring flexible office space
• Handling bookings and responding to inquiries
• Following up with potential clients
• Supporting existing members with their questions
• Coordinating with different teams so the facility runs smoothly
Many of these things happen at the same time. That taught me a lot about communication, patience, time management and attention to detail. I now understand that a premium workspace is not made only of good design and prime locations. It is made of the small moments in which someone feels looked after.
First Impressions Start at the Door:
Think about the last time you walked into an unfamiliar office. Within seconds you decided whether you felt welcome or out of place.

Book a tour at The Hive
Book a tour at The Hive and say hello. I will be the one at the front, happy to show you around.
Book a Free TourI never forget that. A coworking space in Pakistan is often the first professional home a startup, freelancer or growing team will have. When a visitor arrives, they are not only judging the space. They are asking a quieter question: Will I belong here?
My job is to help them answer yes. A warm greeting, a calm tour and a clear answer to a question can turn a nervous visitor into a confident member. This is the part of customer-facing work that no checklist captures. It is not about completing tasks. It is about creating a positive experience for everyone who walks through our door.
Why I Love Working with Clients:
Interacting with clients is my favorite part of the role. It can be a walk-in visitor, a potential client on a tour, or a member who needs help with something small that matters a lot to them.
Every conversation teaches me something. I listen better, ask sharper questions and understand what different businesses need from their office space. A freelancer wants flexibility and a quiet corner. A growing company wants room to scale. An enterprise team wants professionalism and reliability. Learning to read those needs has made me better at building trust, and trust is what builds long relationships.
Confidence Is Built, Not Born:
When I started, I did not have all the answers. The Hive gave me space to find them.
Running a facility taught me to make decisions on my own, stay composed under pressure and take ownership when something needs solving. Each challenge, whether a busy day, a tricky request or a last-minute change, added a little more confidence.
Being a Woman Managing a Facility:
I want to say this openly: I am a woman managing a facility, and I am proud of it.
As a Community Officer at The Hive, managing the facility and looking after the people inside it means balancing many responsibilities at once.
Running a facility taught me to make decisions on my own, stay composed under pressure, and take ownership when something needs solving.
While staying professional, approachable, and composed, this role has continuously shown me what I am truly capable of.
When I started, I did not have all the answers, but each challenge whether a busy day, a tricky request, or a last-minute change added a little more confidence.
Women in the workplace in Pakistan are building careers in every field, and roles like mine prove that leadership can be both strong and kind.
If you are a young woman wondering whether a customer-facing role could be your starting point, my advice is simple: say yes to the responsibility, because you will grow into it.
More Than a Job: My time at The Hive has been more than employment.
It has given me room to:
• Develop professionally in a fast-moving environment
• Understand client needs at a deeper level
• Strengthen my sales and communication skills
• Become more confident in myself
I am still learning, and I plan to keep taking on new responsibilities and growing with every experience.
Come and See It for Yourself:
Words only go so far. If you are looking for a premium coworking space in Pakistan, a private office for your team, or a workplace where people genuinely care about your experience, I would love to welcome you.
